Checked boxes show as completed filled in on the completed document

Hello,

 

I created an agreement form with optiional boxes to check. Even though the X appears in the box on the page perfectly when completing and signing, the completed document doesn't show the X in the box, but rather a fully filled in box. This does not look as clean or professional as an intentional X selection. 

 

Is there a way for the X to appear?

    Verify the field properties. You can have it look like this.

    Thanks so much! That is definitely a step closer, however that results in the response automatically being a check box rather than the signer being able to pick an option to check. Is there a way the signer to choose the check mark and the finished document to reflect as the check or x to intentionally show a selection vs. a fully filled in box?

    You could do radio buttons instead.  Depends on what you want the signer to check off.  A list????
