Question

Multiple Placeholders for File Attachments

I'm sending some documents to a customer to sign, and was hoping to send them all in the same request rather than separate requests.  The problem I'm running into is with the File Attachment field.  I'm asking the customer to attach a file to one of the documents, but then needing them to upload and attach a separate/additional document to one of the other documents within the request.  While I've applied the File Attachment field to the 2 separate documents, it appears to come through as 1 placeholder.  Is there a way to give the two File Attachment placeholders separate identities?

Hello,

Double check that the File Attachment field name is unique for both. For example, if you are using the drag and drop feature, double click into the form field and look at the actual name of the field box. Each should be different. An exmaple is shown below:

  • I placed 2 fields for attachments. One is named File Attachment 1 and the other is File Attachment 2. This will allow your signer to upload.
  • If you are using Acrobat to create your fields, do the same thing by clicking into the field properties and creating unique field names. If you are using text tags be sure the field names are unique (example: Fileattach1_es_:signer1:attachment).

I hope this was helpful.

Be well,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.  I tried to change them to two separate field names.  When I change one it changes the other.  When I go back to change the other, it changes the one I just changed to the same field name.  Almost like they are echoing/mirroring each other.  A change to one changes the other, not allowing me to give them separate/unique field names.
