Can you export animated file directly as GIF?

It seems crazy to me that I can't just export or share an animated file to GIF. Am I missing something in the export settings? I created an animated file using an uploaded MP4 and created what I want to post to social as a GIF. But I had to export my animated file as an MP4, save it to my computer, convert to a GIF using a Quick Action, then re-upload the GIF to use it on social. 

Is this the only work-around for this? I like Adobe Express for the ability to edit and share my content directly from one platform, this doesn't seem like the right way to process this.
