Exporting 6 x 9 booklet as PNG and it changes the size- ALSO GETTING TOFU

I am trying to troubleshoot a couple of issues. The book I created in Adobe Express keeps exporting with errors when I try to do a "pdf". The main issue is that some pages have the tofu symbol (x inside a box). I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that Adobe Express changed versions while I was in the middle of creating the 70 page book.

I haven't found a solution for that so now I am trying to export as a png because the tofu symbol does not show on those BUT when I export, it changes the page size from book (6x9) to like 25 inches by 37.5 inches. When I then try to combine the png pages into a pdf in Acrobat, the files open HUGE. These HUGE files will not load correctly to where I am publishing the book.

I tried reducing the page size of each png in preview but then the resolution is TERRIBLE! I've spent HOURS on this. Any ideas?

Re-check Fonts: Make sure that all the fonts used in the book are available in Adobe Express and not restricted due to licensing or missing font files. You can switch the font for any problematic text to another one and see if it resolves the issue.

Create a New Template: If you're still seeing the tofu symbol after trying the above steps, try creating a new version of your project from scratch. Copy the content page by page to the new file and see if the tofu issue persists.

Export in Smaller Batches: If you're exporting a large file (like a 70-page book), try exporting the document in smaller batches (e.g., 10 pages at a time) to see if this reduces the chance of errors.

Check the Export Settings: When exporting as PNG, make sure to adjust the resolution and page size to match your book’s 6x9 dimensions.

Check for File Size Limits: When exporting PNGs, especially at higher resolutions, the file size can increase significantly. Ensure that the publishing platform you are using supports large file sizes or try optimizing the PNGs further after export.
