Can't for the life of me where to add a drop shadow to an image or object in the new Adobe Express.

Was the functionality removed in the latest (and somewhat troublesome) update?

Hi @ffiigg,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologise for the confusion.

Adobe Express doesn't have a drop shadow feature, but we're constantly working on enhancing the App so it may in future. You can create a similar effect by duplicating the layer, blurring it, adjusting brightness and contrast, changing the blending mode to "Multiply," and reducing opacity. Position the duplicated layer beneath the original for a shadow-like effect.

If you have any more questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask, and if you feel this has helped answer your question, please consider marking this thread as the correct answer. It may help other community members with the same question and inform them that a correct answer is available.

Thank you for your continued support ❤️ in making Adobe Express better.

Good Day!

Any update on this? The drop shadows effect would really help without me having to create another layer (duplicate) and change its tone or blur effect.

Hi @Sheru_K, I believe this feature hasn't been added to the new version of Adobe Express yet. Please add your vote here to show support for getting it added:  https://adobe.ly/47KNgoB.

As a workaround, you can follow these steps:

Duplicate the Layer you wish to apply shadow to.

Blur the intended shadow layer.

Decrease brightness/increase contrast.

Use Multiply Blend if needed,

And/or reduce the opacity.

Manoeuvre the upper Layer so that it sits above this shadow layer and looks good!

Thanks, ^CA
