Adobe express used to have tens of thousands of "shapes" that were incredibly useful to kickstart designs, especially when imported into illustrator. The new version only has 121 shapes in total. Are they going to restored later?
Hi there - my name is Vic and I'm a Product Manager on the Adobe Express team. We recently replaced all our icons with hundreds of thousands of Adobe Stock icons, although they're only available on Adobe Express Desktop (new.express.adobe.com) and our Adobe Express mobile beta (there is a waitlist on iOS, but anyone on Android can download the app and use it immediately). There are more details specifically about the Mobile Beta here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-express-discussions/new-adobe-express-mobile-beta-app-is-here/td-p/14473487
Hello! Below I've pasted the instructions I sent to a user earlier in this thread, on how to locate the Adobe Stock icons. All our icons have transparent backgrounds, so you don't need to worry about that!

Yes, you're right, I used to use shapes quite a lot and it seems the amount is now restricted to 121.
I just checked in the mobile app, which still operates from the old system, it seems that while there is more than in the desktop version, we are still missing some, particularly those depicting Photoshop tools that one could find in the "noun project" set of icons:
such as those:
I was asked when opening the project to transfer as pages or images, that means that those I have created beforehand in the old version are still available for me.
What I would suggest is to put it as a feature request, unless there is another way to find them. I don't think there is a sub-forum for feature requests like there is for the other apps so let's see if it gets some traction here.
Alternatively you can add your thoughts here: https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express
and don't hesitate to share the link here so people (including me) who stumble upon it can votre for it as well. The more votes, the more likely it will be taken into account.
PS: I have added a screen record of what is available in the phone app....

The shapes are still there in the new version. They've just been moved under the "icons" tab.

If you are using the currently shipping mobile apps (Android or iOS) the icons shown in the screenshot above are not available.
A new version of the mobile apps is under development (expected to be in public beta soon). This will have a wider selection of icons. Thanks for your patience.

I was able to access all of the icons on 02/28 with no problem whatsoever but now they're all gone and I can't find the icon tab anywhere. This is so frustrating that I switched to a Canva subscription. It got in the way of me being able to do my job . Does anyone know what's going on?

Does this mean we need to now pay more for these? Adobe stock costs more which makes this way less accessible

Hi there! My name is Vic Chen, I'm a Product Manager focused on our content. The Stock icons in the Adobe Express (desktop) and Adobe Express mobile beta are available to use, even if you are a free user.

Hi Vic, thanks for the update. I mainly use my iPad and I'm not a professional user but I frequently used the pictures that are now no longer under shapes. Is the mobile beta a separate app I need to download? For example, when I go to something I created in the past and double tap on an element, previously found in shapes, it shows as not found.
screenshots below. The last shows the only options I have to choose from. Can you please help explain the steps to find these again in iOS iPad app? Thanks so much!

Hi @Yvette98C6
Here's where you can learn more about the mobile beta: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-express-discussions/new-adobe-express-mobile-beta-app-is-here/t...
It is not currently supported on ipads though.

This has been beyond frustrating for me; thought I imagined the whole thing because when I started the seven day free trial or whatever, all these thousands of shapes were available to me, and as soon as it kicked over to a paid subscription, Bam they are all gone. Are you telling me now that I need to download the beta app which was quite possibly the free version that I was using during my trial? Literally all I have are a couple dozen basic shapes; circle squiggly dots, and whatever. What happened? Going to look at Canva subscription now as previous member mentioned..

And just to be clear, there is no icons tab, and I am not on an iPad.

I don't know but it's preventing me to be able to do my job. We have the premium paid version and I literally cannot do my job because all the small photo / shapes are gone. Guess I better check out Canva that everyone is talking about. This is ridiculous that they would do this. We need this for our JOBS. Like way to show you don't care about your users. I have to seek another program out to finish a project that needs to be done today. Do you guys understand the magnitude this negligence is causing people who pay for and depend on your software?

Now that our icons are powered by Adobe Stock, we will be able to add many more icons over time based on what our users need and search for! Please let me know if you have any feedback about the Adobe Stock icons, if you do check them out on desktop or the mobile beta. My apologies for the frustration and inconvenience we've caused you with this change.

Hello! In the mobile beta app, if you open up the editor experience / canvas, click + in the corner, go to Elements, and then scroll right within those Elements tabs, then you will see "Icons". There, we have hundreds of thousands of transparent icons powered by Adobe Stock, with more being added on an ongoing basis.
Alternatively, if you go to the editor, click +, and click the magnifying glass, it will conduct a search against all the content types, including icons. Then, you can scroll down and see results for icons --> click view all --> it will take you to the Icons tab. Whichever you prefer! It will be the same outcome as the above steps.
Let me know if you still aren't able to find them!

Hi,
that's really annoying. No more icons. Only a few and that's really a problem as I need them very often in my job.
in the Stock part, it's a big mess with everything mixed and no icons with transparent background.
Sometimes evolution seems far from progress.
Can I hope for something better soon or do I have to search for another tool ? It's a very serious question and I'm really disappointed as Adobe Express was my favorite tool.
regards,

Let me know if you still aren't able to find them!

Hi Vic,
thanks for your quick answer.
I had the opportunity to try the desktop version and the iOS beta version. The new product is great but ... working on my phone (Pro Max) is not convenient as the screen remains small. In desktop, using a mouse for graphic works is not very comfortable.
So my main and beloved hardware to work is my iPad. And there's no way to use the new version now.
what I don't understand is : why have you removed the icons from the "Shape" menu before giving a new version of the app ? Because I need the current version in it's entirely until the new version comes.
Thanks for your understanding.

That makes sense, I hear you! We do intend to support iPad / tablets for the new version of Adobe Express -- while I cannot share specific timing, I can assure you the team is working on it, as we know how important it is to many of our users.
I understand your frustration with the lack of icons in the current Adobe Express mobile app (not the beta) on iPad. Unfortunately, we had to remove that content and focused on ensuring our Adobe Express mobile beta had icons, to ensure it could offer the latest and greatest.
