Hey @default32776803fp0blw , I tried replicating the same, and it worked fine for me. Could you share the workflow you're using to achieve transparent text? Do you get any error messages while doing it? Also, I'd recommend you clear the cache/cookies of the browser you use to check if that makes any difference.

Let us know about your observations.

Best,

Amitej

When I open any of the files that migrated to new express, the formatting gets ruined! I had quite a few thumbnails that I created where there was a photo with transparent letters over a background color, on top of the photo. Can't figure out how to fix all of these. Awful!

Hi @Dan32032442mf1l

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Could you please share a couple of screenshots — one showing what you design looks in the new version, and the other what it used to look like. You can find the latter in a folder called [Originals]. Also note that you can continue to download the old design from the [Originals] folder, but not edit it.

Thanks

Abhi G

Hi @Dan32032442mf1l

I assume the entire text "180...for war" is one text object and "The Nooks" sub-range used a secondary style.

While the new version of Express is flexible in many respects (e.g, you can create multiple differently styled sub-ranges of text), it does not currently support a few attributes on text ranges: Shape, Shadow, and Outline.

That is why you are seeing the differences. A manual workaround if you need these three attributes on sub-ranges would be to break up the text into multiple text objects. Sorry for the incovenience.

I'm not really sure what you mean. The inverted stencil text style is what I've used to create quite a few thumbnails. Is that font/style no longer available??

Hey @Dan32032442mf1l, Are you trying to make the text transparent?
if yes, try this workflow

  1. select the text you want to make transparent
  2. Select 'Color' option
  3. In swatches, select the option that is a white box with a red diagonal. That's the icon used for no background feature (screenshot attached)

Hi @Dan32032442mf1l

To clarify, the inverted stencil style is still supported, but only on entire text objects, not on individual ranges of text.
