Trying to use Remove Background to Make a Transparent png

I am attemtping to use the quick remove background tool. I can upload the photo, and the preview looks good. But when I click "Download" instead of downloading to opens a new tab creating a new project w/ a random background color. 

 

Like what is the point of this tool if I can't quickly just upload and then download? Like what am I missing?

Adobe Express Remove Background appears to do both--open the image with the background removed in a new project and open a File Explorer or Finder window where you can save the PNG. 

 

If you're not able to download the image, do you work in an environment where downloads are restricted? If that's the case, then you might talk to your IT department.

No I do not have downloads restriced in any way. I can download files just fine from any site I wish.
