Why Adobe Express is so slow on Desktop for Mac?

I'm used to working with Adobe Suite, but I only started with Adobe Express some weeks ago. I'm so frustrated with this app! It is so slow! You can find on Reddit people complaining about the same, but nobody addressed the elephant in the room here. Something you could do on InDesign in 5 minutes will request at least three more times. You cannot visualize the animation because it is so slow. I tried to see if it was because of my Mac. I updated my Mac, closed all the applications taking a lot of memory, cleared the cookies, etc...still the same! Not everybody wants to work on the Ipad or the iPhone!

It is taking me 3 or 4 times as long as it used to. I have the fastest internet and updated Mac everything. Adobe please address this

I stopped paying for Canva because of Adobe Express. It was great at first, but is just unusable at this point.

It's so painfully slow. The literal free version of Canva is better than Adobe Express.

I have 100 Mbps download speeds my graphics are optimized for Adobe. My internet speed and Mac are not the issue. Wish they would fix it. Been using Adobe products since early 90s and this is very dissapointing.

We're sorry to hear about your difficulties with slow performance issues with Adobe Express. Please try these workarounds to improve performance:

Having multiple tabs open will use more memory. Closing unwanted browser tabs will free up memory and improve performance.
To save battery power, performance is often throttled automatically by the device. Plug in the laptop or device to avoid throttling the battery.

I give up, its completely rubbish, so slow its unbelievable... Everything elso on my computer is absolutely fine, I am having to look at other apps, which is a shame...

Hi Tarun,

Am I right in thinking that the new version of Adobe Express is not yet available on the Apple platform? It doesn't seem to work via Chrome on the iPad and the current Apps don't include any of the new features. It's been a long day so maybe this is just me and my fried brain... Can you confirm please.

So many people here have said that it's unusually slow, and still the advice is to close down tabs? There's something wrong with the program. I'd like to know if the problem is something that's being worked on or not, in order to know if I should switch to other apps.

I think it is the app itself that needs to be optimised and fixed by Adobe. Period.

I am running Adobe Express on the latest Chrome Browser, I have Apple M1 Max which is insanely fast, 32Gb Ram, 500Gb internet speed, only chrome browser is open, Apple Sonoma.
I noticed Adobe Express sometimes doesn't display images, it just shows a loading icon. I am guessing it can't handle higher-resolution images. This has nothing to do with my hardware obviously. It needs to be fixed. This never happened to me on Canva with the same size images and same hardware as above.

My speeds are sufficient enough.

My system is up to date.
Different browsers, including freshly installed ones provide similar results.

Creating a simple graphic, IG portrait post (small filesize) without any animation whatsoever, simple white BG, two overlayed layers and two textboxes, is all it takes for the server to slow me down to a slow crawl, or even outright freeze. Today, it's an unresponsive share button. I could live without the AI, or the suggested fonts/styles, if only they could give their servers the power/broadband much needed.

Continua com lentidão, no meu caso um projeto já com bastane informação, ele oscila na velocidade de edição e salvamento. Em um projeto novo, com poucas informações, ele executa sem problemas. Há também uma variação de velocidade de edição e salvamento, dependendo da rede que está conectada, referente ao projeto já criado com bastante informação. No 5g ele melhorou, nas redes banda largas, ele é mais lento. Projeto sem muita informação executado bem na rede banda larga e móvel.

Same for me. Really unfortunate when you need to provide easy templates for non-designers to use, and the program is lagging this much. I can have other Adobe apps open at the same time while working, but not with Express, just opening the program in any browser makes my computer overheat and eveything slow down. It's crazy.
