Why is Adobe Express slow and why does it lag?

Everytime I work on Adobe Express I have issues with the server lagging or being extremely slow!!!

 

Adobe Express has major issues how slow the site is I honestly do not know how it has not been addressed yet. Simple tasks like changing tools causes to server to slow and you end up waiting minutes for it to load. Most of the time you end up reloading the website and often lose work.

 

Zooming is my biggest problem with this site. When you zoom it glitches and causes a duplicate of your work to appear and you are forced to reload the webiste, EVERYTIME. When working you are constantly zooming in and out to see details and then the full scale again so this makes it nearly impossible to use the site. 

 

I really love do love Adobe Express for its simplicity and yet still being able to produce quality graphics and creatives. The ongoing problems with the site however have made me utilize it less and less. When I do I usually end up disappointed or frustrated midway and switch over to Photoshop or Illustrator. 

 

Hopeyfully they can figure out a solution to finally resolve the issue. Sadly I will be done using it until then.

I'm having the same issues. Everything about it is too slow to use. I'm looking for another app to use. The whole idea is for it to be fast and easy. I hope they can get it working correctly. I'm looking into Canva.

Yup, it is massively frustraiting.

Add's much more time on to creating and honestly makes you want to pull your hair out.
Time = Money..... at the moment both are being wasted, hand over fist, by this program stalling/lagging and generally being a pain in the backside. Even attempting to move videos from one folder to another is slow. The simple act of clicking in a tickbox and having to wait a second before you can click the next one or it has a hissy fit.

Sort it out Adobe.

If you find an alternative, please do let us all know 🙂 I am sure most here and across other forums would rather switch than deal with this rubbish.

Assuming you are not using Safari, but are still running into significant performance issues, do you mind sharing a screen recording illustrating this?

I have used Edge, Chrome, Safari.... all have the same issues.

I will see if I can upload a video, but looking online, both here, reddit and many other places, it looks like this is a common issue with express and looks like many are now jumping ship for alternatives. I am likely to end up doing the same.
I have done all the suggested fixes like deleting cache and so on. Nothing makes a bit of difference.

Yup, I have the same issue on my mac. It used to be a lot faster but now it's sooooo painful to use. And I do have the premium subscription.

Adobe is just doo doo.  I'm running 3-D modeling software with thousands of parts, and that thing works faster than Adobe.

I just waited 10 minutes for adobe to process the fact that I wrote "REVISION" onto a page.  I made a typo and had to do it all over again, waiting another 10 minutes.  It is always like this.  My CAD program crashes a lot, but when it's not crashing, it can load an entire dredge (boat) with thousands of 3-D parts in the same amount of time it takes Adobe to write a single word.  It is ridiculous.

Could you please DM me your adobe id (email that you sign in with) so I can look into the performance logs associated with your account? Such extreme lag while typing is definitely an outlier. Sorry for the incovenience.

100% agree. This is really really bad. I bought the illustrator package and express came with it. I wanted to upgrade my skills when it came to design and this is just painful. Been using Canva a long time. So much faster. I'm not someone who complains or leaves remarks, but this needs to be brought up. They keep saying to try the normal things that everyone who is seasoned enough to download something like Adobe would already know. Yes, of course we tried closing other sites. Yes, I checked my internet. At this moment? Express is bad. Your company has made revolutionary products and made them user friendly. This seems like something that would be so easy for them to do and it's pretty much unusable. Gonna have to pay for Canva, again. Yay.

Having the same experience. Too bad since I pay for the adobe package and don't want to pay for another subscription, for Canva for example.  I'm currently working on a project to help a group of volonteers to make good looking posts for social media. Adobe express has the right features but it's so slow to work with, it lags all the time. I'm just putting text onto photos, just opening the program in the browser makes my computer overheat.

A year later and the issues is still not resolved. I have literally being trying to download a filed with a video for more than 2 hours.  It took me all of 1 minute to upload the same video to Tiktok. I don't understand how Adobe products are this lax.

We're sorry to hear about the issue you're seeing. Are you getting any error messages while downloading the video? Did you upload the video from your device, or are these videos in stock? Have you tried using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) to see if it makes a difference? Please ensure you're on a stable internet connection.

 

Try clearing the browser's cache and cookies and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, can you share the URL of the project to check further?
