Why is my .pdf over 60mb?

I've made a flyer to be exported as a .pdf and for and my 1st and 2nd draft were 8mb but on the third draft i've added 6 photos and it's pushed the size of the file up to 60mb. Is there something i can do to reduce the file size but retain the quality of the flyer?

I assume these Flyers will be printed?

You could try to convert images to JPG. This can decrease the file size and maintain its quality.
