Waxing/Waning Crescent Moon at Night only gives me full moon

Hello,

I have tried multiple times off and on to generate a waxing crescent moon. Every image, no matter what I choose in the options, always generates a full moon, or, even when choosing a style that isn't surreal or whatever, it will give me some odd looking structure of a crescent moon, like a sculpture.

I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this if generating anything to do with the moon or if it's just me. I even tried a simple 'crescent moon at night' prompt with only wide landscape and art as the options. I still received a full moon in various sizes.

Thank you.

I was using auto which gave me Photo.

Even with Art selected, I can get cresent moon (not full) but it will be an artistic interpritation not photo realistic. If you want something not surreal do not choose art or be a lot more specific with your prompting.

Example. Art setting "Cresent moon in night sky" is artistic, but somewhat abstract and gives me full moons:

I would try removing the landscape style. That shifts the focus to landscape literally and not the moon as the subject.

With landscape

Are you using photo or auto for the generator settings? I change it to Art on purpose. Even using square, I can't get a crescent moon.

However, expanding the prompt to "Hyper realistic waxing crescent moon in night sky over a forest mountain range" still gives me an artistic look but with more realism in the moon.

That's closer to what I'm looking for. I prefer artistic over photorealistic for what I'm attempting to do. I'll use your advice and keep trying. Thank you for your help.
