generating incorrect nationalities

No matter how hard I try, I can't get Firefly to generate 'vikings' with the correct nationality. I get four variations and only one is a northern European. When I ask it to generate a northern European, it makes no difference: the originally generated versions stay the same - practically identical.

Thank you for reaching out. We use the location indicated in your profile to show people with similar ethnicities to your region. If you have a specific ethnicity you want to see in your images, please indicate it in your prompt. This will override the region default.

@channonp4602134 can you share the exact prompts you are using and samples of the errant results?

I shut-down the app after posting and didn't think to keep the promts...but when I re-launched the app and put in the prompt as I recalled them, it generated three northern Europeans. I've noticed that when Firefly generates the initial images, if I try to change it (the style of the art as an example), it just generates the same thing over and over. Almost identically. If I shut it down and try again, I get different results.

Why does the app only create people with asian eyes?  I'm trying for a caucasian woman and want the image to represent me, but 80% of the woman created look asian?

Hello @Dayan381085498qak,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Can you please share some of the exact prompts you used? Usually with a little tweaking, you can achieve what you want.

Thanks,

Its almost impossible to generate caucasian women. I am all for inclusiveness, but that doesnt mean adobe and other ai programs should completely erase white people. I tried to create some instagram posts for a blonde Swedish, light skinned woman and it is impossible, Firefly exclusively genrates black and hispanioc as well as mixed race womwn with blonde hair.

Hello @PacificRabittCreative,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

It is possible to get a Caucasian woman:

Blonde haired Caucasian woman drinking iced tea

You prompt is too long, too conversational, like a story. The model will not understand it well.  The most important object should be as far left as possible and everything related to that object should be grouped together.

I just did a quick rewrite.  This might not be exactly what you want, but recommend you start from here.

artistic, feminie, caucasian, light skinned blonde fourty year-old short woman facing camera, exploring beautiful places and art destinations. natural lighting, zoom-out

I recommend this document: Writing effective prompts to further help you in crafting good prompts.

Thanks,

Hello @Ollaft37801674397w,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

This issue has been discussed in these threads:

Adobe basically had three choices:

  • Make everyone look the same (so unlike a large percentage of the user base)
  • Have every image have a diversity of people who appear to be from many locations
  • Create people who appear to be closest to the region/location where the user is

The decision Adobe made is to try to make results appear more culturally relevant based on where the user is located. There are advantages and disadvantages of doing that, and in some cases, the results can be far from what you are looking for. You can change your prompts to be more descriptive of the people and objects to override that region/culture behaviour. It would be nice for Adobe to allow this to be disabled or overridden with another location/region or completely diverse subjects.

Thanks,

just to let you know, when asked for indian images, AI usually generate muslim and arab images. Even the back ground structures are islamic rather than Indian.  Pls consider it. Just for you information, indian tuban and muslim tuban are different. Only a few % of people in indian wear turbans. There are only 12 % of Muslims in India. Pls don't consider my observation in a religious way. This is just to correct your AI image generation.

Adobe, in Firefly I tried generating images of people about 10-12 times, without specifying race. Never once did any of the four results-per-generation (four images) display a white caucasian male. However, white females and non-white people of both sexes always appeared. I don't understand why this is happening.

Thank you for reaching out. Can you share what prompt you were trying? You may need to include "caucasian male"  in your prompt to help direct the generation.

When writing a sentence "woman on a motorcycle with two female police officers dancing" most images show Latino or black women.

Typing in "very handsome black man" to replace a face gets a whole lot of images that seem excessively stereotyped, in some cases flirting with caricature. What kind of art depicting Black people did y'all find to put in this thing?

Hey, I've been testing Firefly for quite some time . However, I've observed that whenever I mention 'woman', 'men', 'male', or 'female', Adobe Firefly consistently returns images of Indians. I'm not sure about the reason, as I've never specified a location or any other detail in the prompt, I am from india.

Hi,

as you stated yourself if you are from india and your Browser locating in that region the AI try to be also in that region. For me, when I do not specify other regions, I get more European citizens. If you want other regions of the world, you can specify that.

regards,Henrik
