Question

My monthly generative credits were reduced from 1500 to 1000 -- why?

I subscribed to Adobe CC in August 2024. My monthly generative credits were 1500 each month in August, September and October. Then, in November, my monthly generative credits were reduced to 1000. I'm still being charged the same monthly subscription fee. Why was this change implemented? When was the policy communicated? I received no email notice that this would be happening. Less product for the same price? Not good.

Hello @Samdram415,

What plan(s) are you subscribed to?  I am guessing that your 1500 credits came from adding together two sources of credits. One possibility is you had a creative cloud all apps (1000) and an Adobe stock subscription (500) which added together are 1500. If your Adobe Stock subscription then expired, you would no longer get the additional 500 from it. There are other possible combinations like this.

Hi there, I'm subscribed to the plan that includes all Adobe apps, but not Adobe Stock. Adobe had a discount sale in August 2024 which is when I signed up as a new customer (I didn't have an Adobe subscription at all before this). The credits are generative credits, which I believe apply only to Adobe Firefly. I don't think I'm comparing apples to oranges. When I'm on Firefly, I click on my user icon (upper right corner) and get a pop-up window that contains my user name, my email, and a box titled "Monthly generative credits." In that box is the readout of my remaining generative credits for that month. It USED TO have a denominator that was always 1500 credits, for example, "846/1500 credits." Starting November 2024, the denominator has been reduced to 1000 credits, for example, "846/1000 credits."

I ran completely through the 1500 credits in September using Firefly. Like, I was tracking them as I worked, and there was no reduction of credits happening due to use of any other app. So I'm sure those 1500 credits were Firefly generative credits and nothing else. This is why I don't understand why the reduction happened. I haven't changed anything in my subscription plan.

The only thing I can think of is that somewhere in the very fine print of the subscription agreement that there was some 90-day clause about Firefly only. However, when I contacted Adobe Customer Support about this, they did not mention that kind of arrangement. All they said was some extremely generic language about "the terms of service have changed." Well DUH, but how/why, and where is this in writing?

I'm paying the same amount in monthly subscription as before, but getting less in product/services. Adobe won't explain why that happened. This is quite frustrating. Thanks for your reply, but the explanation you offer is not what's happening.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, only customer service will have access to the information on what services you were subscribed to previously and what generative AI credits you were entitled to and how that might have changed.  I can tell you that the generative AI entitlements detailed in: Generative credits FAQ , have not changed recently. There are a limited number of ways to add up monthly credit entitlements to get 1500 on individual plans.
