P: Access to firefly video (waitlist)

I received an email that people on the waitlist were being given access over the next couple of weeks. THat was almost 3 weeks ago. Any news on when I can expect to get access?

Correct answer DeanUtian

From the page page below about the Firefly video beta, it states:
"Adobe may limit the number of users who are granted access to the beta at this time."
https://www.adobe.com/products/firefly/features/ai-video-generator.html

So even though some people may have been added to the beta does not guarantee that others who signed up will also get access.

Now that Firefly Video has moved to a public beta, we will close off this thread.

has anyone gotten access to the beta yet

Hey @the_razer_8560

Yes, people have been given access to Video Beta. We just have to wait until we are given access.

Hello,

when will be Firefly Video finally be released? I have been on the Waitlist since Oktobe 2024! Unfortunately you don't hear anything from support anymore.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm just wondering what criteria are used to select and add beta users. I have been using or purchasing Adobe products for decades and have been a member of the subscription model since the beginning. Or are the beta users selected at random? Anyway - I would be happy if support could at least say when the official (not beta version) launch is.

With greetings, Jürgen

Please can you give me access to the beta version of Adobe Firefly?

January 13, 2025

Hey @Margot24999633u12u

There are no "beta"versions of Firefly. You can apply to join Photoshop Beta, Illustrator Beta programs.

You will need to make an Adobe Account and sign into Adobe Firefly.

Hallo,

ich habe mich auf die Warteliste für Firefly Video Beta setzen lassen.  Der Support hat bis jetzt leider noch nicht geantwortet.

Hat jemand von euch erfahrungen wie lange es dauert bis es freigeschaltet wird?

Vielen Dank

und liebe Grüße

Christoph

Hello @christoph_3037,

Thanks for your interest in Firefly video! The rollout is happening very slowly. Adobe pretty much shuts down over the holidays, so I think there was little movement in the past couple of weeks.

My best,

Hey Guys, when's the AI Genrative Text-To-Video feature coming?

I'd love to try it!

Hi @layne_7584
There is an open beta for the text-video but is limited. There is no word yet on when it will become available to all as far as I know. Will probably be posted as an announcement in this forum once it is available or a release date is confirmed.

Hi Adobe team,

I have request authorization to publish a video created by AI few days ago but I haven't heard from you yet. How long should the authorization takes?

Thanks,

Severine

Hey @Severine Watry

We just have to wait for the authorization. What I am saying is that we as users will not know until we get the authorization.

It's been 2 months since I signed up to try the beta video generator with no response yet I am seeing that others have recieved access. Is it really taking that long for others to receive the email allowing access?

Hello @Julie Woertz,

Thanks for your message. A lot of people signed up for the beta! Which is great to see the volume of interest in this product.

Adobe is slowly adding new people from the list to the beta. As it is a new service, they need to ensure there is sufficient capacity (generating a video takes a lot more resources than just an image) and are able to address problems that are identified as people are added.  I know the wait is frustrating and hope you make it to the top of the list soon!

My best,

I'm going to consider getting a refund to be honest. I only got the creative suit yesterday and was under the impression firefly video was part of the package

I have a full set of Video I need to create. Might need to look elsewhere having read this.

Hello @tafk786,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Since my last post, Adobe has started granting access to people on the waiting list. The original rollout of text to image Firefly went through a similar release process.

Beta features can take a while to role out as they learn and adjust from feedback from the early users. Also, currently the text to video beta cannot be used for commercial use.

Thanks,

Hey everyone,

I’ve been keeping an eye on Adobe’s new generative AI features, especially the video generation tool they’re promoting through Firefly. I’ve had some success using their other generative tools, like video extension in Premiere and generative fill in Photoshop. But I’m specifically interested in using the video generation tool to create a short clip from an image I already made.

I signed up for the waitlist, but after a while with no updates, I decided to call Adobe support. Surprisingly, two different representatives told me the video generation tool doesn’t actually exist yet, which is confusing considering all the advertising around it. So, I’m reaching out to ask if anyone here has managed to get access to the tool or knows more about its actual availability.

If you’ve seen or heard anything concrete, please let me know. Thanks!

Don't have anything concrete to add. The Firefly video generator page posted does that that the beta may be limited. Sometimes beta tests are done with a small group and people involved have to sign a NDA, which means they can't talk publically about what they know. Don't know details of the Firefly video beta. Just have to wait and see.

Adobe Firefly Video Generation Tool - Accessibility and Transparency Issues

Alright, so Adobe admits the Firefly video generation tool exists—that’s at least a start. But I’m curious: has anyone actually gained access to this yet, and how long did it take? I signed up for the waitlist but haven’t heard a thing since, and calling Adobe support only added to the confusion.

On top of that, I noticed Adobe’s new “generative credits” system. While my employer’s plan includes a decent amount, it’s discouraging to see Adobe taking the same credit-based approach that a lot of AI tools use. It’s a bit frustrating to watch Adobe start charging based on credits—especially since so many of these AI tools are built on the work of OpenAI developers. For a tool they’ve been showcasing at Adobe MAX (both this year and last), the lack of clear information or a straightforward path to access is disappointing.

So far, the quality of Adobe’s AI tools hasn’t been groundbreaking; they’ve mostly been a step behind other options out there. I was hoping the Firefly video generation tool would have decent pricing if they’re going to charge for it, but a credit-based system just feels like more of the same. If anyone has any firsthand experience or knows how to actually get access, let me know—appreciate it!
