Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is not allowing Firefly to  used in any competition images.

There stand is to NOT allow any AI.  However, software like Topaz, Nik, and Anthropics - among others - which AI are allowed.

Suggest folks contact PPA at<moderator removed link>to suggest PPA create an AI category and ALLOW Firefly.

@Michael91 To be clear - Topaz, Nik, etc. do have plugins and other features that are not AI. For the IPC - the rules do not call out Firefly specifically "No stock or AI images will be allowed."

Some local PPA competitions give more clarity "Images created by means of Artificial Intelligence, or AI, are not permitted in this competition. It is permissible to use AI technology to remove items (ie using content aware fill tool to remove a dust or sensor spot), but it is NOT permissible to use AI technology to add elements or replace backgrounds."

Sounds like double talk. I have used Anthropics, Nik, Photoshop and
Lightroom to replace backgrounds.

It is my understanding that all the enhancement software uses some form of
AI. Firefly and creativity are being hurt. Yes, I know some photographers
who are currently using Firefly - however they do not enter their artwork
in the artist category.

Just like in years past PPA required that you had to submit physical prints
for competition, in the future PPA will allow AI. Simply wish Adobe would
lead the way.
