Training on Prompt Data with Partner Models

I'm looking for a more definitive answer to the following question...

Will any content uploaded to a partner model, such as Runway, be used in model training?

According to Adobe: when you use any model (whether their own Firefly or a third-party/partner model) through the Firefly app, “the content they generate and upload … will never be used to train generative AI models.”  Great.

But, Runway’s Terms of Use explicitly state that by using their services, you grant them a license to use your “Inputs and Outputs” (e.g. your prompts and the resulting images/videos) to “train and improve its AI models, algorithms and related technology.” - which is why we won't use Runway within our business for commercial production.

But, if I use the Runway model through Firefly, is it really true that Runway does not use the input for training?  I'm dubious, as it seems like a technological leap to setup a unique pipeline for Adobe requests.  Please reassure me that's not the case - because then it allows a broader use of tools in a commercially safer manner.

Thanks all.

Hi Alluring_artistry6286!

Thank you for reaching out with this important question. We understand the concern around how content is handled when using partner models through Firefly. I'll ask this to the product team and get back to you.
