Clearer way to go back to generated ideas after modifying in other AI enhancing features

Several times today I have hit the back button only to lose all work after I had gone into do additional modifications to an AI generated image. A more clear way to revert back to where the image was or see past generated images would be great. Like the way you have a prompt history in photoshop.
