What is the size limit for uploading video content to Prime?

Contributor ,

Question for the Prime tech development team:

What is the size limit for uploading video content to Prime?

I have an .mp4 file format; size below... is this too big? I've tried at least 4 different times over the past two days to upload this content but it just will not go.

Help...

Thanks,

Thomas H.

Devendra (and entire Prime tech dev team), thanks for your patience (sometimes I ask the same question I've asked before).

On our call today Devendra Nath Mishra (Technical Support Consultant) reminded me that:

  • The video content size limit is 900 MB (my video was 2.88 GB which equals 2880 MB).
  • He also informed me that, if I have a video larger than 900 MB, I can use the Adobe Media Encoder (if you have Adobe Captivate 9 you have it), to compress the file.
  • I've never used it before, if you're like me

I have found that some browsers react better than others when uploading large amounts of data.  For example, Explorer fails almost every time when I am attempting to upload large amounts of data.  However, when I use an alternate browser, I have experience no difficulty uploading into Prime.   You might attempt to use a different browser such as Mozilla or Chrome and see if that works for you.

Hi James.

Thanks for the reply. I did attempt uploading with different browsers.

Eventually, I decided to use a link to the video instead.

It would be great to have these types of questions documented and easily accessible as a reference.

Thanks again!
