Adobe Media Encoder 2022 not connecting to AE

Hi guys,

I just updated all my software to the new 2022 versions and have been having issues with Media Encoder. I usually export from after effects to media encoder because it speeds up my workflow. It worked the first 3 times I exported, but now it seems like it's not connecting to AE. I have restarted my computer, restarted all programs, cleared my memory & cache, but it's still not connecting. Decided to just uninstall ME 2022 and revert back to the 2021 version.

Any ideas on what might be causing the disconnect? A handful of people at my work are having similar issues including crashing, lost presets, & incorrect exports. Open to any suggestions! I'm good using 2021 for now, just curious if some setting changed?

Good news, everyone! Adobe released an AE update last night [Thursday, Nov 11, 2021] that, as far as I can tell, has solved this issue completely. Check to be sure you're up-to-date.

Exactly the same happened to me just now; resorted to export a jpg sequence in After Effects, import that into Premiere Pro, then export from Premiere as mp4.

Luckily I'm working without sound but I'm uninstalling and reinstalling. I'll see if that fixes it for me but if not, will go back to previous version as you did.

It fixed itself the next day.

But the same day, the "fix" that worked for me was downloading the previous version, both from AE and Media Encoder.

Hugs and luck if you're having the same issue!
