After the update to the 2022 version, when sending an AE composition to render in Media Encoder, nothing happens. Media Encoder opens but no composition shows on the screen. This stuff happened to me before but somehow it resolved itself. Today I've tried to unninstall AE and Media Encoder multiple times (among other "fixes" that I found on some threads) but the issue still remains. It is unreal how Adobe focus so much on new amazing features on their software but the most basic ones are clearly still failling. Extremely annoying.

It's finally worked for me since the last update (on M1 mac mini), but it should be said that you do have to go and allow on a lot of permissions settings on a mac too; if you haven't tried that you should.
I wish the beta worked better for M1 mac users, in that one it connects to it and tries to render and then "fails" every time...

Could you (or anyone else) run me through how to enable the right permission on my new Mac M1? That would be super helpful, thank you!

from jamesb58502259
Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab
Scroll down to a folder called "Full Disk Access" > Click the padlock and enter your user password
Now use the "+" button to add AE / AME / Premiere Pro to this list.
Do the same to the folder called "Files and Folders"
After this restart your Mac and **it should** be working fine.

This functionality broke for me a couple months ago as well. Now runninghte latest updates of bot AE and ME, still broken. AE does launch ME, but the project doesn't appear in the queue. If I drag the comp over from AE to ME, it creates a render item, but then when you hit render it get stuck trying to connect to AE. What a complete disaster. Adobe keeps making these product less and less functional.

Which OS and hardware? This is actually fixable but very dependent on the OS and hardware.

haha.
I am able to send comps from AE to ME using the "Queue in AME" button in the render queue. But then when I hit render in ME, it gets stuck on "Connecting to Dynamic Link server..."
Very frustrating. (And yes I have all the disk access permissions set correctly in Mac OS settings)

I'm having the same problems years later. The only way I can get this to work is if I send the composition to the media encoder from AE and then go to file>start queue in the Media Encoder menu.
