Question

Dynamic link server connection between AE and AME not working!

I cannot export my AE composition straight to AME; AME will open but my comp won't be there. I can, however, add my comp to the AE render queue and then send it to the AME render queue from there, and it shows up, but when I try to render it in AME or adjust render settings it pops up as a Dynamic Link Server Connection failure and then it tells me "Could not read from source. Please check the settings and try again."

I have the 2020 AE and AME; and funnily enough what does work is rendering it in AE into a .mov, then uploading that .mov into the AME queue from AME, then it'll render and go into an .mp4. However, making it a .mov takes away some quality and so I'd like to avoid that if possible!

Any help would be appreciated; I've already tried the instructions from most tutorial posts on here and they don't work! 😞

Update: I tried cleaning both the AE and AME disk caches and was able to upload 1 AE comp successfully and render it through AME... however, it was only that 1 that worked- every single other one still doesn't, which is odd as there's nothing that really differentiates it. So, I know it CAN work, it just still doesn't.... weird!

I am very sorry for your issues. I do not have a repro yet.
Just to be sure: you tried these default things? –

Can you please try the following:

  1. Make sure that versions of all apps match (required for DynamicLinkManager to work correctly).
  2. Verify your own AntiVirus / GateKepper setup. If applicable, deactivate temporarily to verify.
  3. Quit all DVA apps.
  4. Use Activity Monitor / Task Manager to kill DynamicLinkManager if it still runs. (On Windows, you need to open the Details tab to see dynamiclingmanager.exe in TaskManager.)
  5. Launch AME first.
  6. Open & export the project again.

Please let me know if this workaround works for you.

Sorry, how do you find those?
