SOLVED I cant believe it after 7 months I solved it. Guys please have a look for your "Premiere Pro" and your "MediaCore" folder. Libary/Application Support/Adobe/

try old to name name differently like "Premiere Pro_OLD

start the app again and it will create a new one. For i dont know what stupid reason it worked for me for Media Encoder and Premiere Pro. Its such a shame that the support never tried this one. After 2 calls and so many emails

What surprise me is that I posted this on December 18, 2019 that was almost 13 montsh ago.  Yet the issue has not been solved.  13 months !  And people kept complaining that the Media Encoder is still NOT working.  That's mind boggling!

Not sure if I've seen it anywhere on here but I have just had issues with AME 2020 crashing on startup after the latest update. I searched in vain but found a thread where someone had similar issues years ago and  suggested the classic - hold shift whilst launching to clear cache - and it seems to have worked for me!?

I'm on an IMac late 2014 running Big Sur OS.

Thanks – holding down shift worked for me too!

Yup, exactly the same problem. I have several videos to export this week and bascially unable to do so. I removed ME and reinstalled and now it just says it encountered a problem and can't open. Adobe why is it that with each update your software gets more buggy?

I'm on MacBook Pro with Mojave v10.14.6 and experienced AME not opening. I tried all the solutions listed but still didn't open soooo... I uninstalled AME newest version and installed the previous version. Restarted my computer and AME and After Effects both opened. I wouldn't recommend updating AME until this bug is fixed.

We worked with Enterprise support.  We were having this issue with AME and Premiere.  They examined a log that showed "VTwin" was crashing.  We figured we had an issue with our CoreMelt plugins, but we had the latest installer from them.

We resolved the issue, by uninstalling the CoreMelt plugins… then re-installing AME (and Premiere.)

After seeing them launch, we re-installed CoreMelt (we have the Everything Bundle) and checked again… launching fine now.

I hope the little dance wont be necessary in the future, but at least we have our apps launching again.

I contacted support today, and this was my problem too and probably has been the whole time. All is well!

You have to grant access to FULL Disk Access, Files and Folders in Apple Menu/ System Preferences/Security & Privacy.

Ok, maybe it's a bit to much access but it worked for me.

thank you but this also did not worked for me. Full Access, really everyhting is granted.
2019 collections works fine, but 2020 not.

Same issue here wiith all versions of AME 14.3. Been getting around it by dropping back to AME 14.2 which is fine but annoying.

This is only an issue on our edit suite running a Mac Pro (Late 2013) running Catalina 10.15.6. All working fine on all other machines including a couple of 2019 MacBook Pros running the same macOS and on our PC based suites.

Have tried the cache delete thing that was posted and various restarts and reinstalls along with various other recommended approaches but no joy...

Worth noting that this was installed on an absolutely clean install of the macOS with no iCloud prefs or back-ups etc - just a base macOS as a starter. Installed the entire CC suite from fresh and it presented this issue right away with AME. It starts up and goes through the splash screen and then just stops and quits with no messages... It just stops its thing and dies...

I regularly rebuild our edit systems and diagnose/solve issues etc and am used to jumping the hoops and trying all the suggested fixes but this one has me stumped....

Any suggestions Adobe folks?

Same here, I resorted to Encoder 13.1.5.

Catalina 10.15.6

Application won't get past the splash screen and tells me it has to close.

I find it unacceptable with the number of people having this issue that Adobe hasn't found a solution. They had no problem charging my credit card for a service that is lacking.

same here @Adobe do you want to solve this or not? Huge amount of filmmakers switchting over to Davinci at the moment.

This appears to be a widespread problem. Is Adobe working to correct the issue? ME14 worked initially, but is currently broken. This is unacceptable.

Also, if 14.2 is still working, as some have indicated, how can I downgrade from 14.3?

Hey Mike!

In the CC app, click the 3 dots next to Media Encoder and select Other Versions. There should be an install button next to 14.2.

App tries to load… disappears during splash screen.  10.15.6 macOS, AME 14.3.

Tried install/uninstall a few times via CC app.  Tried repairing the CC app, no different.

Treid another local account/user, same results.

I’ve found that 14.2 still works and loads from Premiere and AE.

The same with me! Only ME 14.2 works on Catalina!

I've tried few times, but crash before opening!

Having the same issue, tried uninstall and reinstall, no luck. 13.1.5 works fine except it does't link with the 2020 apps. Hapens on both my MacBookPro and MacPro, both running Catalina.
