Output mpeg-2 with 708 captions

Hi,

I want to create mpeg-2 videos with 608/708 captions. I drop a .mcc file into the Premiere Pro timeline. Then I want to export out mpeg-2 files for broadcast. I can create .mxf files with the captions. Why can't I create mpeg-2 files with captions? What settings am I missing. I have "embed captions" selected.

Thanks,

Jason

Correct answer MMeguro

There is a bug that the embedding option is available for MPEG2.  MPEG2 doesn't support embedding caption.  Supported formats are AS-10, AS-11, DNxHR/DNxHD MXF OP1a, JPEG2000 MXF OP1a, MXF OP1a and QuickTime.

Sorry for the confusion.

It may currently be a bug in Media Encoder, but I know for a fact that you can embed captions to an MPEG-2 because Apple Compressor does it.  Why can't it be added to AME?

Agreed!  I've been asking this for years!  Adobe should support embedding captions to MPEG 2 files.
