Two days ago, Adobe Scan email function stopped working. I have signed out and back in, looked for app updates (none), powered my phone off and on. I don't see any recent topics addressing the issue. I'm following the same steps I have for a year:
1. Tap "share" button
2. Tap "share a copy"
3. enter my email address, hit send.
It makes the "whooshing" sound like usual when I send a file but none have gone to my email. My email is working fine. I have tried the "share a copy," "email," and "share a link" options. None are working. I cannot lose the files I current have or I would delete the app and download again.
If anyone can help, please advise!

I took a chance and deleted and reinstalled the app. All the scanned/saved documents in the cloud showed up again. I was able to email the files successfully.

Hi Elizabeths,
We have tried to replicate the behavior on our end. We are able to share the scanned PDF with all the share option provided in the application.
Please try once to sign out of the application and try to reboot the device.
Then sign in again and check if that resolves the issue.
If the issue persists, please share the following details with us.
- Adobe scan version installed on the device
- OS version on the device
- Did you check if the issue occurs only with the Adobe Scan applicaiton? Try to send the files with other application.
We will be waiting for your response.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the steps you suggested and the problem persists.
-Adobe scan version 19.06.20
-os version 12.3.1
-I’m not sure how to send from another application.
-if I delete and reinstall the app, will my currently uploaded documents still exist in the cloud linked to my account so I can access it when I reinstall?

I am having the same issue.. also deleted and reinstalled the app... but still no emails.... keeps happening over and over... and i am running the latest OS.. time to switch apps.. Adobe truly is terrible.

Adobe is terrible software. Very difficult, although all the advertising says they have great support and ease of use. I have been trying, although wasting very valuable time, trying to send a PDF that I scanned from the mobile Adobe scan app.
It just does not work... the person on the receiving end just gets a weird link that does not allow the user to see the scanned PDF. I tried everything... researching... support.... help forums... and nothing works. It is so frustrating that I will not be using ANY Adobe products ever again. Adobe and its support are terrible.

Yes I agree entirely, because of their dodgy software that I thought I could rely on i recently just failed a placement test for college, i expect nothing less from adobe at this point though

I feel foryou. And I totally agree with your personal assessment. The more I read cases like the more I am becoming convince that Adobe is trying to be the more expensive, not user friendly, multiple billing software to ever roam this earth. They are a cross between Apple and Microsoft. And they want to sell all their products as if they are an extension of say, Microsoft, with all the crap that goes with their products as if it were gold. I hope what happened to you was not as worse as mine.
Since last year, at the height of the pandemic, I wasn't aware that they were billing me 4x for a product that I rarely used. I only wanted a software that if I sent a document to a client for his signature and when done sent back to me. But, until the wife found out from our account, and the charges kept piling, did I decide to ask them about these charges. Their customer service is a misnomer. The stupid agent wanted me to write every freaking transaction that I knew she was merely looking at and she just wanted to give me a hard time and when it happened would wear me out. I refused saying that I know you're looking at it. I can send you a PDF if you want, I told her. Not helpful at all. We ended up disputing every charge, even those I thought were legit because it called for it. Moreover, this only slowed down my phone coz it updates even if you are not using it. Worse I kept getting the Message Send Failure error which was annoying when my WIFI was tops and upgraded.How much was the unknown charges for the so called subscription? More than $500!
I used to like Adobe. Not anymore. I already hit on every survey that their products are expensive and not user friendly at all. Even their Photo Shop! It is a waste of money. If I can only find a 3rd party competitor which will offer their identical or matching services for less, pretty much what Samsung is doing to iPhone, I would kick this software out of my system. They are so dominant that they want you to choose them as the default! No can do. I will bring my business to the lowest bidder.

I found a solution that worked for me. After struggling with this same issue, I realized I have 3 different emails associated with my Adobe account (two from separate universities, and my personal email). After clicking on share and share link/email/share a copy, it will only share via email if I choose to send from my university email, not my personal email. It doesn't seem to have trouble sending to either account, as long as I choose the correct from account.
This was a lot of frustration for a pretty simple solution. The strange thing is, that sometimes the email will show up several hours later if I send it from my personal email account, sometimes it never does. I'll just stick to what works!

I finally gave up and am successfully using Microsoft Lens.
Too frustrating attempting to do something simple with Adobe.

@Gary24345845ozhm Would you mind going to the phone settings app -> Mail -> Accounts, and check if you are actually signed in in your Mail app. I checked mine and apparently my gmail account was signed out from Mail app, and after I signed in again, the emails were sent.

I had the same problem--I would try all three options to share a file from the app, and nothing appeared in my email. I managed to resolve the issue, and it involved logging in to the website (https://documentcloud.adobe.com), and on the Home page, clicking Shared. (I did this because another Support web page suggested it.) I decided to copy a link to the document and embed it manually in an email to myself. Not only did that work, but all of the attempts that I had made until that point suddenly arrived in my Inbox! And now I can share documents directly from the App too. So all of my previous attempts were blocked until I shared from the website, and now it appears to be working normally. Good news for now, but am still left wondering why it was blocked in the first place!

Would you mind checking and letting me know if Adobe Scan and the mailing application you use were updated to the latest version as per the store?
This would enable us to understand better what can be the root cause of the issue.

It appears that my Adobe Scan app needs updating, although I can't
determine what version I'm currently using.
Looks like my email app (Gmail) needs updating too!

Try Microsoft Lens - it is free, it works, no issues with iPhone taking scans and sending.
