Hi @Lewis5CD2 ,

Hope you are doing well.

As you have mentioned that after you changed your phone, the old scans are not visible. In this case there is a possibility that you may have used some other email to sign in on the new phone. Make sure you sign in with the same email address which you used earlier to save scans. Try all the possible Adobe accounts you have.

Adobe Scan saves the documents as PDF in the Adobe Document Cloud. You may check your saved files over here, Open the link Adobe Document Cloud

Hi @Lewis5CD2 ,

Adobe Scan saves the documents as PDF in the Adobe Document Cloud. You may check your saved files over here, Open the link Adobe Document Cloud.

  • If you are not uploading the files to Adobe Document Cloud or saving it to any other location, then the files will be deleted permanently.

It is not possible to retrieve the files once deleted directly from the application. I would suggest you always save a copy of the file to some other location or you can upload the files to Document Cloud.

If the files were saved within the application, they are by default uploaded to Document Cloud.

  1. Open Document Cloud and sign in with your Adobe ID and the password.
  2. Then go to Files > Document Cloud > Adobe Scan folder.
  3. Here you will see the Adobe Scan folder. Please look for your files here.

Otherwise, there's not much we can do to recover the files for you.

Let me know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries, please feel free to reach.

Thanks,

Harsh

Good morning,

I have exactly the same issue as Lewis5CD2 describes above. I only have one adobe account. I had sync with adobe cloud activated. Links to previous shared files still work, so the docs are somewhere on adobe servers. How to get access?!

thank you for ideas / help!

alex

Hi @Alexander33953883aw3j,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Adobe Scan.

As you mentioned about the files still being available on Document Cloud, you can move them back to the Adobe Scan folder and the files should show up on the application too.

You need to log in to https://assets.adobe.com/cloud-documents/ and navigate to the folder where the files are, then select them together-> click the three dots on the top right-> click move-> then navigate to select the folder named "Adobe Scan" and then cofirm the movement.

Once done, the app will take some time to sync with the cloud service and the files will reappear.

You can learn more on how to move files from here: Selecting, moving, and deleting files in Creative Cloud

Hope this helps.

-Souvik

Exactly the same thing happened with me too! 😞

And am pretty sure the earlier app did not get me to login and I logged in in the new app and it showed me my docs but showed them as locked and wasn't opening them. Now it's not even showing those docs! 😞

I had a lot of important docs on adobe scan and this is a massive loss for me.

Please suggest if any ways to access my scans.

The “earlier app” (on a different phone?) did ask you to log in to your Adobe ID, as that is the way this app works. You just get asked only once.

I suspect you signed in with a different ID. If you are using a different ID, the system shows the data in this ID and not the former one.
