I scanned over 100 pages.  before saving to a pdf, I accidentally clicked and 'x' in left hand corner. And everything was lost.  there was no extra prompt or anything.

support told me that you can retrieve these scans for me.

seems like it was never saved as a pdf, so it is not in my cloud account.

i used adobe scan with my free personal adobe account/email.

i have a paid creative cloud account, but i did not use that account/email with adobe scan.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have mentioned above that you have not saved the scanned images to PDF, sorry to say that it is not possible to recover those scanned pages. You will need to scan them again.

If you have saved those pages, you may find them on Document Cloud.

To check that, refer to the steps mentioned below:

- Open this link Adobe Document Cloud and sign in with email address you have used to sign-in to the Adobe Scan application.

- Then go to Files > Adobe Scan folder.

Check if you can find your scanned PDF there.

Just to inform you, in Adobe Scan application, you can only save 25 scanned pages to PDF at once. If you scan more than 25 pages at once, it will not save those pages to PDF and will give a prompt to delete some pages.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

I was not even given a 2nd prompt such as:

"Closing will delete the scan you have captured. Are you sure you want to close without saving?".

I hit "x" (thought it would return me to my scans) and everything was gone.

I can't chance using Adobe Scan again.

Other scanning apps have never deleted my scans.

Can Adobe Scan fix/change this issue in their app?  It seems others have had similar issues.

The application generally shows the message when you click on the "X" icon without saving the images to PDF.

We have tried to replicate the issue on our end. However, it works fine and shows the discard message.

We have recently updated the application. Please make sure that the application is updated to the latest version.

Just for the testing, try once to scan multiple documents and then click on the "X" icon. Check if you experience the same behavior again.

If the issue persists, please provide the following details:

- Make and model of the device

- Adobe Scan version

- OS version on the device

Regards,

Meenakshi

Sorry, the Adobe Scan application only saves the image of the scans that are converted to PDF.

If the scans are not saved on your device, then you will need to scan the documents again.

Meenakshi

I'm another UN-satisfied user of Adobe Scan Android. I lost 26 scans which required an overnight trip to a research library where fixed scanning is not allowed. 100s of $$ and two days wasted! I am beyond furious with Abobe's inept design strategy for this app!!

After closing the app and the phone at the scan site, I returned home and the next day reopened the phone and the app to find the scans were onscreen. Thinking they were saved, i closed the app. No warning, no cautionary notice, no nothing, and now - NO SCANS!!!

Utter UI and engineering design incompetence. This issue seems to date back years with narry a care for user needs.

Here's a tip: protect your users by saving the capture on the device outside of the app. No exceptions, make it the default, and make it hard to turn off this protective BACKUP process! Counting on cloud storage is absurd wishful thinking. The most likely place to need a mobile scan option is someplace that is DIFFICULT to do regular scanning - as in no other options, rules about handling documents, and no wifi or cellular connectivity.

Adobe = Idiots!

I agree. Adobe Scan is very irritating. Not user friendly and I scanned over 900 pages just to not be able to go back and edit. Free apps work much better.

Hi @Kacey342241548nys,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

When you scan pages and suddenly close the app (not closing the workflow) and then re-launch the app, you should get a pop-up about resuming the last session or starting a new one.

Also, you can modify the scans once you have saved them to a PDF by going into the file list and then clicking on more-> Modify Scan.

Would you mind briefing us on what went wrong for a better understanding and assistance?
