Hope you are doing well. Per the description, you want to understand the storage usage of Adobe Scan.
Adobe Scan uses the best-quality images from your phone's native camera and compiles them to create a PDF file.
This is the primary reason the file size increases with the number of pages on the PDF.
If this is not what you want, you can change the quality of captured images from your device's settings-> camera. Once done, capture images using the Camera App on your device and then import them to Adobe Scan to create a PDF.
Hope this clarifies your question.

You can use the compress PDF feature using the Acrobat Reader mobile app to reduce the file size. Here is a help document you can refer to:

Hello there,
I have the following question: when I use the scan documents function with adobe scan (premium account) I get PDFs with a lot of MB (100 page documents result in 195 MB PDFs!!). Is this "normal"?
In the past I have used adobe scan to convert single JPGs into PDFs and the resulting PDFs never had so many MB.
I would be very thankful if someone could help me out here.
Best wishes
Franziska

Did you ever get resolution for this? I've been having this problem for at least a year. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but that did not work. I'm hoping someone was able to resolve and can share what they did.

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!
As mentioned above, Adobe Scan uses the best possible resolution available on your device to capture and create PDFs.
In such situations, clearing the app's cache files would be a good solution to clear storage space.
Hope this helps.

We have used Adobe Scan for some time, scanning documents & adding images from phone library to create a PDF uploaded to the Document Cloud. Recently we have noticed file sizes which have for years averaged 2-5mb in size are now uploading at 35-50mb in size. This is completely dumb founded as the whole idea around PDF's are sharable size files. Downloading such large files, takes time, and then compressing each file in order to email is also very time consuming. After the PDF has been compressed with Adobe DC, every file opened then produces an error message of; Cannot extract the embedded font ‘CZPHIT + HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd-SC700.’ Some characters may not display or print correctly.”
Adobe, PLEASE assist with reverting back. Online Technical chat results in getting passed around & around with no resoultion. Every setting inside Adobe Scan does not allow amendment of file compression.

Hello Patrick,
I hope you are doing well. I am sorry for your experience with Adobe Scan.
Are you experiencing this issue with a particular file or with all the files? Also, please a few details with us:
1. Application version of Adobe Scan;
2. The operating system you are using and its version;
3. A screenshot of the error would be great.
You might want to check whether the application is up to date with the store.
Thanks,
Souvik.

Hello Ashish,
I hope you are doing well. As per the above description, I understand that you are concerned about Adobe Scan's file size.
It depends upon various factors s to how the size of the scan will be determined, for example, the lighting and the details of the document.
You may also refer to the link for more information: Manage Scans — Adobe Scan for iOS
I hope this answers your question.
Thanks,
Souvik.

Using scan on iphone. Files are uploaded to cloud. I actively need newer files but at a certain point I want to reduce clutter on Iphone and get rid of older files. #1 - It seems files are totally syn'd so deleting from phone or online cloud removes the file altogether. IS there an archive function? Would seem that Adobe would recognize not every file need to be on the phone. #2 - If archiving the file from the phone is and option there seems to be no "Check box" or whatever that allows me to select multiple files for mass delete on phone making the process incredibly tedious. Am I missing something?

Hi jonb,
As per the issue description mentioned above, you want to delete/share multiple scanned documents in the app, is that correct?
Try updating adobe scan app to version 18.12.11. Once updated, go to all scans> tap three horizontal dots in the top-right corner> tap select >
Check the scans you want to delete > tap horizontal dots again and select delete or share.
Let us know if you need any help.

Hi jonb,
Try disabling/enabling the wifi/mobile connection on the device and check if that helps. If issue still persists, try rebooting the device once if you haven't already and try again.

But there's still no way to select all of them at once? It appears we have to tap every single file to delete it.

Hi @maryvarn,
Since the option isn't there within Adobe Scan, what you can do is, go to Acrobat online by clicking the three dots on the top right-> request a desktop site-> select all the files and then delete or go back to the main folder and click the three dots on the right dots on the right of Adobe Scan folder and click on delete.
Hope the workaround helps.

I'm scanning many old documents with a lot of discoloration, splotches etc. Counter-inutitively, cleaning them up results in an explosion in file size. I have found threads sayng that using "Save as" and a new file name will cause the excess data to disappear, but when I do this the bloated files do not shrink at all. What am I missing? jh
