Question

Generate public list of all my files

I use XD to create UI prototypes supporting feature development. I use the "Share" tab in XD to generate public links and then post links to various stakeholders, usually via Slack. They review my prototypes, comment on them using XD commens or during live meetings/calls. Most of them don't have Adobe accounts.

Prototypes go through multiple iterations. For each new one I create a new XD file named "Topic name v3 23.02.2023" and share public links again. Links to previous versions get lost in the limbo that Slack PMs/channels are and the stakeholders no longer have lists of all iterations of a certain feature.

Obviously, I could simply create a Google Drive list, share it with all stakeholders, and update it manually each time I publish a new XD file. This costs time and is error-prone, so I've been searching for an easier way. So far, I haven't found any XD feature or plugin that serves my purpose.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me a hint of an existing feature/plugin or let me know if Adobe has considered/is building it. I describe my story below.

As a designer using XD,
I want designs I (or my team) have publically shared to be automatically gathered on one public list (and be sortable by timestamp/file name)
so that my stakeholders (no Adobe account) can find files quickly, view them and comment on them.

These are not perfect solutions:

  • sharing files via Adobe/XD - most stakeholder don't have accounts, also, I can only share files one by one from the https://assets.adobe.com/cloud-documents list (if you check more than one, the "Share" icon above the list is hidden)
  • a Google Drive document - I don't want to update it manually each time after a file published.

Thank you for taking your time to read this,
Michal

If you go to https://assets.adobe.com/links which shows Your file and specifically points to your published content, then you'll see your published prototypes. It shows how the prototype is being shared (e.g. Public Link, Only You). If you click on the link, then it takes you to the published prototype.

Thank you. I know this list but cannot share it with anyone else. I need to be logged in to see it.

If any stakeholder without an Adobe account could see the list and click the links to the designs, that would the the feature I asked about.

What if you print that web page as PDF and share it? IMHO that must work.My 2 cents...

Thanks. Yes, that would work. It's just next time I publish an XD file, I would need to print as .pdf and share the new version.
