Getting error 2090 when trying to update any link from particular XD file

Hello,

From the morning today trying to update links of one particular XD file gives error:

Something went wrong.

Learn More (Error 2090)

The help article under Learn More link has zero info about any 20xx error codes.

This file which gives link updating error is stored on the cloud. Tried updating links from other files, they worked as needed. But updating links from this particular file always fail with same message. Searching internet didn't give any info.

Things tried so far:

  • Did some modifications in the designs
  • Did changes in the prototype links of pages
  • Did changes in components
  • Closed and reopened XD app
  • Tried changing "View Settings" from Development to Design Review, and other options
  • Tried chaning "Link Access" from "Anyone with the link" to "Only invited people", and other options
  • Tried creating new link by making some other artboard as home page
  • Deleted one link from the same file (That file had 4 links and all used by developers, for this problem tried deleted one of used links, which creates much inconvinience!)
  • Killed all services related to Adobe that I could find running (there were crazy number of them running in background, like 15 different services)
  • Restarted computer
  • Next probably is going to restart power of the building

The development of some features is blocked from the morning because of this problem, and I don't know what else I can try. 😞

Not mentioning about situations when works of last hour were not saved and simply lost! But todays problem already creates much frustration in the team.

Any help may save our lifes.

Thanks

Hi @rubens10614367,

I appreciate you providing the needed details. We apologize for the disruption it may have brought to your feature's production, and we can understand how aggravating that could be.

Since it doesn't appear frequently, error 2090 doesn't appear to be a common code here. Yes, the file will undoubtedly be helpful.

First off, I would advise you to upgrade XD to the most recent version, which is XD 56.

Since only one particular file appears to be affected by it, not all. Please save the XD file on your machine locally, upload it to a shared location such as CC or Dropbox, and share the URL with me over a private message.

We'll make every effort to assist you.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi Harchika and Rishabh,

Thanks for your support. We solved the problem!

Because XD doesn't allow anyone to Update the Link except the project owner, our designers apply to me with each changes to update the link. My computer is not designer's computer and I have many other things going on, and at that time when I was trying to update link my computer was compiling a large project and using much memory. Because that one XD project that I was trying to update link is quite large (about 100+ artboards) I guess it was having memorry issues, and instead of showing meaningfull report, it was showing error 2090 cousing all of us to go crasy.

Anyway the problem is solved now, and we now know that error 2090 most probably is related to memory issue during link creation / update.

Thanks,

Ruben

Hi @rubens10614367 ,

We're so sorry to hear about the trouble. Would you mind confirming the version of XD & OS? We'll also need access to the file, so please add the original file to a shared location like Google Drive or DropBox and share the file with me through private message by clicking on my name. I'll try my best to assist you with this.

Regards

Rishabh

Also if it is possible, can you please check internally what may 2090 error mean. That may at least give a clue where to search for a problem.
