How to select multiple options (Checkboxes) to trigger a button in XD?

Hi all...

Say that you have like 4 options or checkboxes and a disabled button, my question is how do you select multiple options (toggling on/off on each) and as soon as you select one, the button triggers and becomes blue with text "Next" on it... how do you do it? It also stays disabled if no option is selected.

Correct answer Spas K.

Enabling / disabling the button based on multiple conditions would be quite a complicated feature, so I wouldn't expect that sort of thing to come to Xd anytime soon.

On the other issue - dragging Left to Right, can you elaborate on what you mean by that? Maybe post a video / screenshot of what you're trying to make. Currently, you should be able to use auto-animate and dragging interaction in any direction to switch between artboards. Maybe I can help with that at least 🙂

There are some ways to do it, but none is optimal or very easy to do if you want it to be 100% realistic. There's no conditional logic in prototypes.

If they are radio buttons, it will be easier, as you only have 1 checked at a time, and you can't uncheck it, so you just have to enable the button if any option is selected. You can achieve this with a separate screen with an enabled "next" button for each radio button toggled, or with a component and separate states for each radio button.

With many checkboxes it's a different story, as you can have multiple on at a time and there's no way to set a condition like "if 0 are checked, go to disabled button screen". You can set it so that when one of them is disabled, you go back to the disabled button screen. In theory, if you have 5 checkboxes, you can make a 25 (or something like that) state component, to account for every possible combination where only 1 checkbox is active, and clicking it goes back to disabled button screen, but that would be a nightmare to prototype and I wouldn't go that far.

Maybe in the future they will add this feature where you can choose multiple checkboxes at a time and trigger a disabled button to be enabled. I also hope that they update the dragging feature in Adobe Xd, so that you can drag from Left to Right. That would be helpful alot.
