Hi there! I have a big problem when I working with XD/PS. After importing PSD files into XD blending mode not working 😕😕 I found this page: Supported features when you open Photoshop files in XD  And I see there is no support for blending mode in this case. Is there any update in Adobe plans? It's pretty big problem when you create page layout in PS and then you want to put PSD into XD.

Correct answer Dan Rodney

Blend modes are not implemented in XD yet, but they are a feature Adobe will work on the future according to Blend Modes – Adobe XD Feedback : Feature Requests & Bugs. Until blend modes are implemented natively in XD, it can't important Photoshop layers with blend modes as native, editable XD elements.

Keep in mind that the idea of XD is to create things in XD. Converting Photoshop documents is good for old layouts, but not supposed to be the modern workflow. But of course I'd love to see blend modes in XD.

Thanks for reply. I love XD for prototyping and share functionality online with my customers but nothing more. When I creating website I'am using brushes, gradients, custom shapes and all this magic functions that PS provides. PS has many tools that helps me to create full design from zero (blank page) to hero.

I was trying many times to create website from zero in XD but on every step I got problems like:

"Oh noooo! It's imposibble to get this effect in XD?! I need to open PS to create it and then import it to XD...?"

IMHO XD is nice when you want to create simple page like this one: Adobe XD Web Design Tutorial - YouTube - I mean if you want to create grid, add text, heading, simple/flat button or CTA... not a majestic design for #1 place on Behance OK, I can create banner etc. in PS and then move it to XD but why if I can do it all in PS then simply export all images/svg's and then code it in DW? It's better to use one software - it's just faster.

I am not sure, but I have heard that XD has more functions on MAC version (I'am PC user like all my coworkers).

Just to clarify on your last point: XD has the same features on Win and Mac, with a couple of notable exceptions where the platform makes it difficult for us to implement (e.g. recording the Preview window). Windows actually has more features than Mac, as we support pen and touch on Windows devices. At times, we've rolled out significant changes first on one platform to iterate before the other, but we try to quickly bring the other one up to par as soon as possible. We're currently as close to parity as the platforms will allow.

Hope that helps!
