Since version 24 I can't import 3D objects ot use the Mercury engine anymore.

Getting this error message and the screen turns black.

After Effects (Beta) error: internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name searched for in group} ( 29 :: 0 )

Any ideas?

It could be you don't have a sufficient GPU memory to use the Advanced 3D comp renderer that is required for 3D model rendering. It won't even be listed as a comp 3D renderer option if that's the case.

I get a warning when I launch saying 'Advanced 3D is not supported by the current hardware', but you can set that warning to never show again so maybe you did that then forgot about it? I originally must have done that and it confused me for quite a while until I realised why it didn't work.

Hi All,
I understand this thread is from August 23 so its quite old but i am brand new to AE Beta and can't tell if hte problem i am encountering is user error (more then likely TBF) or a bug.... can anyone help me? I am sure its me! Thank you so much!

I am working with AE Beta 24.3.

I have tried inporting a obj and a gltf file.

They come in but when i put them into my timeline they are not viasable. I get a 3d rectangle with all controls but model itself isn't there?

I have tried Classic 3D and Cinema 4D render. I have also tried changing from Mecury to Mecury GPU.
When importing i am hitting 'make comp size' but i have tried no doing this as well.
I can not work out what i am doing wrong and why these models are not appearing.
I even dowloaded one from Adobe to make sure it wasn't anything within the models themselves.

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreactied. I tried Adobe chat but they said they could not help with Beta versions.

The screen shot attached shows what i am seeing.
Thank you

I've had that issue. It sometimes clears up by reloading the file. it gives and error message then loads fine. And it'll be different layers every time I open a project. It's a crapshoot – might get everything to load and then the next time I open it I get half the layers. It's very frustrating and I don't yet know if it will cause problems on export.

Open the creative cloud, navigate the AE beta in the beta apps at the right pannel. Click on the 3 dots and you can see the lower version of beta.

How can you make this downgrade?

Note for anyone else having the same problem, but like me, your file is for v24 - "Save a copy as 23.x", then roll back. Now you can use the older version that worked without losing work.

Same problem. but only after updating to 24.0.0.16 The version I had yesterday worked, but wasn't 23.6 because rolling back made my file incompatible.
