I'm having the same issue. Just installed AE Beta 24 (Build 11) and get the following error after trying to add the imported model (glb or obj) to a comp:

"internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name searched for in group}"

I have to click on that error message 4 times before it goes away.  A 3d track is added to comp but nothing is visable.

Yep. Super excited to give this feature a try - but no 3D model format seems to actually work. Bummer.

Don't get discouraged.  This is the first major issue I had with this developing feature - it has worked pretty flawlessly for me since its beta release (other than many missing features as of yet).   This was probably some code screw up or update incompatibility.  I'm sure Adobe developers will quickly fix and put out a new beta release.

Sorry for positng again, I know that this was reported with previous builds, But it looks like the problems still ocurrs on v24. After reverting back to v23.6 everything works again

I've used up until recently 3D model imports (GLBs) successfully within AE Beta.

Now, after the model imports, AE switches to the Mercury 3D renderer, and the comp goes black, only when the models visibility is turned on. There is also this message, pops up while in Mercury 3D mode, and any other attempts to load other models:

jjhh43467397_0-1690952474454.png

This was happenening just before and after a recent NVIDIA studio driver update.

My build info:

12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz

64 Gb RAM

GeForce 3060Ti

Windows 10 Pro, 22H2

1Tb Cache

Is there anything else I could provide to help narrow down this issue? Anyone else experiencing this?

I've tried the most basic composition to load, well, anything as a 3D layer with no success now. GLB,OBJ,GLTF....This wasn't an overly complex project : Drone footage flying down empty hi-way, camera tracked , and 3D model sports car flying up road.

All models are visible in Dimension, and exported through that.

Thanks - appreciate any help or feedback - even if you haven't had any issues, it may lead me to figure out if I've screwed something up.

In the most recent version of after effects beta 24.0.0.14, the 3d assets no longer work or show on import. I tried importing GLB and OBJ files, but neither works. In the previous version, everything was working great and rendering fine. All my saved files no longer show the 3d either. The stage just goes black whenever you import a 3D asset.

Alrighty. I was hopeful it would work in x16 but it appears that the issue still persists in the latest release.

Hi, I just downloaded After Effects Beta thinking in a project in particular. One of the great features of AE Beta is that supports .GLB format and other 3D Models. I created an account in Substance 3D to get the models from Adobe as well, but it is disappointing that it doesn't work.

I import the file to AE project and once I drag the file to the timeline it makes an error ( 29 :: 0 ). I just talked to the online assistant but he said that the forum is the only way to fix Beta's issues.

I'm running AE Beta in two Macs:

iMac 3.4 GHz i5
Radeon Pro 570 4GB

16GB Ram 2400 MHz DDR

Ventura 13.2.1

--------

MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz i9

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB

161GB Ram 2667 MHz DDR4

Ventura 13.1

Please help me with this, I'm stuck in a very cool project.

Same problem. but only after updating to 24.0.0.16 The version I had yesterday worked, but wasn't 23.6 because rolling back made my file incompatible.

Note for anyone else having the same problem, but like me, your file is for v24 - "Save a copy as 23.x", then roll back. Now you can use the older version that worked without losing work.
