Can't copy paste text from other apps into After Effects

I can't copy paste text from other apps into After Effects tekst layer. Not from InDesign or Pages or any other app.

For what it's worth, the workaround doesn't work on 18.4 (build 41) on MacOs 15.10.7

Tried on multiple projects from multiple sources.

I have just tried this work around and it doesn't work for me. A simple job of "copy and paste" no longer works! I just want to say that as a customer of Adobe Creative Cloud, these regular updates with more and more bugs in them is very quickly becoming an annoying part of using Adobe Creative Cloud. It adds more and more time to each project with these awful bugs. Please sort it out! Never in my days did I ever think that a simple "copy and paste" would never work...

how is this even an issue? between this and photoshop completely glithcing out anytime i try to use 3D, i've about had it with adobe's latest update. stopping "fixing" things that aren't broken just to break more stuff.

Have to copy paste a path from Illustrator to a solid in After Effects. Not possible at the moment. Unfortunately I need that path in order to complete my work. Ist there a different way to import a path?

Same problem.....every time something goes broken when adobes decides to update their software REALLY ANNOYING ! guess i'll just stop the auto update functions in the creative cloud until Adobe fixes their worklflow

I'm still having this issue in AE 18.4.0 on a macbook pro 10.15.7. AE won't allow you to paste in any text from other apps only other text within AE.

Not a fix. Creates another problem ... now, »Media Encoder is not installed« error pops up. If you then open AE by project it works again ... AE = unstable, anyone?

Same issue here, and this was the second time this had happened (previously happened in an earlier release) AE 18.0.4 on a A1990 MBP with a 8-Core i9, 32GB Ram and Radeon Pro 560X. AE indicated 22% ram usage, trying to copy text from external source into AE but Paste is disable.

For the price Adobe CC suite costs I expect a professionnal working software...

New update today, v18.4.1. ... So far looking good for the "pasting text issue" that was happening. Appreciate the patch update fix, Thanks again!
