M1 AE Beta to M1 Standard AE or AE on PC - Incompatible

Community Beginner ,
Apr 06, 2022 Apr 06, 2022

Hi,  I've discovered that if I create an AE Beta document on my M1 Mac and then try to export the project for another user either on Mac or PC.... and even on M1 Mac using standard AE,  The project files is unreadable - "Chunk in File too Big"  Tried saving as AE XML still no go.  Anyone know a workaround to get the AE Beta file usable by anyone not using Beta?  Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this. The break happened in Beta 22.4 x 30 so saving your projects in any build from then until now will have the bug baked into it, unfortunately. We are working on a fix as we speak and I will update the channel as soon as its available in Beta-- very soon, I hope.

Apologies for the inconvenience,

Dacia

Just quickly reporting that the rosetta version of After Effects crashes on macOS 12.3.1 on my Mac Studio M1 Ultra 128GB 48-Core.

I mostly use the beta, but I just felt like letting you know.
Cheers 🙂

Hi @BrianC37211

The fix is in! Please download 22.4 x 35 (or later) from the Creative Cloud Desktop and re-save your projects from this build. Re-saving from this build will allow you to open the project in older versions of AE without issue.

Lemme know if you run into any problems.

Thanks for your patience,

Dacia

from Dropbox:   A red circle with a white “X” means that your file or folder can't update or sync. If you just attempted to add this file or folder to your Dropbox account, it may mean that it can't be added.
