2s delay in hearing audio after pressing play in Ae 25.

When I hit space bar to preview the timeline the visuals play for rounghly 2s before the audio kicks in. The audio remains in sync but there is always a 2s deleay before it starts.

This is apparent even on all comps I'm working on and I've even tested it on a blank comp with nothing but an mp3 in it. the play head moves for 2s before the audio catches up.

I have also tested this in a workspace that has 0 additional third party panels and the issue is still there.

This issue is new to Ae25.

I'm working from macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 on an M1 mac.
Using After Effects Version 25.0.0 (Build 53)

Are you able to share a project and associated footage so that we can attempt to reproduce the issue?

I should add that I have also tested it with different audio output set-ups. Built in macbook speakers, external speakers, wired headphones. All result in the same issue

It's happening across all every project and any footage / audio I work with. I've tested it on another Macbook, same specs, OS and Ae version and it's fine there, so it looks like the problem is something with the set-up of this particular macbook. However Ae is the only application where this is apparent.

I've tried unplugging all periphersls in case they are interfering with the audio and closing al tasks that could be using audio and still no luck.

I've checked the MacOS sound settings and Audio MIDI device settings between the two laptops and all options are identical.

Okay I finally found the one setting that was different between the two macs.

Mute Audio When Preview Is Not Real-time was checked on the mac experiencing issues and unchecked on the other. Unchecking it has fixed the issue but it seems to be a big with this setting.
