Hello,

I'm trying to open Duik Angela in After Effects but it tell me that it's impossible :

"unable to execute the script at line 20042" and tell me to use getAppTheme, getUseReducedContrast and getAlloedAppTheme.

But i don't know what that mean. I tried on a past version of after effect it's also not working and tried to update my Duik Angela script but the problem still the same.

Could someone help me fix this error ?

(Sorry if my english is bad)

Thanks,

Célia

Hi Jessica, thankyou so much for your help.

Recently I installed newest version of AE (2025) and also DUIK. The problem has been solved.

Thankyou so much.

As far as I can tell, this is not solved. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the install method or location per the "solved" answer; it seems to be an issue with the .jsx referencing an app called themeColor that is no longer available in AE. The dialog pop-up says to "Use getAppTheme, getUseReducedContrast, and getAllowedAppThemes instead." There are 3 lines in the code that reference app.themeColor, maybe an update can be pushed that revises those lines?

Hello,

Relaying this from Duduf, the developer of this plugin:

I can confirm Duik should work on Ae2025
A couple of things noticed:
  • If the user has installed Duik using the "File" menu from AE, the script goes in %appdata% (and there's need for admin rights)
  • But most users and tutorials use the old way, by copying the script file in the app folder (program files on win /applications on mac)
The problem is that users may end up with two copies of Duik in the two locations when updating; the problem is only one gets listed in the "Windows" menu, and it may be the older version.

Marking this as fixed since there is an update that is available to fix the issue.

Hi Jessica, @Jessica McMillan

Thankyou so much for your help. I would like to try newest version of DUIK. I hope there is no bug / error.

For now, I am going to use After Effects 2024. Last time I replied, I was using 17.1.8., I am going to download the latest version of DUIK (17.1.16). Hope it works.

Thankyou so much Jessica.

@mardi,

I have reached out to Duduf, the developer of this plugin. We both believe this was fixed with the update from this summer, though he is going to verify with the build available from the website.
