After Effects 2024 on Mac - Generative Fill Layer leads to Unknown Exception Error

1. I am trying to create a generative fill on a video clip, (I've created 3 reference images for said clip.)

2. When clicking 'Generate Fill Layer' my computer will load to then give me a window saying: "After Effects Warning: Unkown Exception." and an all black alpha layer titled 'Fill [followed by the frames]'.

 

Due to what I've read online for possible solutions: I have removed any fonts from my computer that show a warning according to font book. The error still continues.

 

I couldn't find an solution to this problem online, so I hope this error can be fixed with your help. Thank you.

Same questions as we posted to the OP:

Would you be able to share a screen recording of the behavior? It would be helpful for us to see whether the error occurs at the analysis stage or the rendering stage (indicated in the Content-Aware Fill panel).

 

Could you also share your system specs and which version of After Effects you are using?

I am having the same problem - I've used content aware fill many times in the past, but about a month ago it started to through the unknown exception error. tried to open all project files, or revert to after effects 24 and 23 and still the same problem. Content aware fill is pretty much the only reason I use after effects, so this is a big deal.
