After Effects 2024 randomly logs out and shuts down

Hi all, I have just downloaded After Effects as my school provides it. 

 

I have been experiencing a constant issue of the app closing down after a minute or even 30 seconds and closing my project. My screen shows this white image and then shuts AE down straight after. I have a 

MacBook10,1 23.8 MB of storage left & No hard drive, 

It's really annoying lol so somebody please help a girl out, I just wanna do my school work & edit cool tiktoks.

The fix for this sign out issue is in 24.3 which is rolling out to all customers today.

Are you able to install / do you have installed something like Photoshop where you could start that up first, log in and then startup After Effects? That is also a workaround we've seen work.

Hey, just tried that and it showed me the white screen & logged me out even faster. I have updated AE aswell & cleared my storage

Sorry for the issue. There is a bug in recent releases of AE that if you log into Creative Cloud via After Effects, it will log you out after 30 minutes. That will be fixed in 24.3. In the meantime, if you can log into the Creative Cloud Desktop app before starting After Effects it should resolve the issue.

This problem has suddenly started, and it is driving me (and others I see have also menitoned this problem) in that AE simply pops up a SAVE ? Project dialog, and then closes down around every 10-15 minutes.

 

I then have to log in again, wasting far too much time messing about and loosing my continuity.

 

Please can we have a fix for this ASAP.

Do you mean you log into Creative Cloud inside AE each time? If so, there is a bug that is fixed in 24.3 (Beta at this time) that should resolve that. As a workaround, you can sign in to Creative Cloud in the Creative Cloud Desktop app before starting AE and that should fix the logging out until 24.3 is available.

Wow, that was quick !!! I have installed the beta and so far have had it
running for around 30 minutes, so it certainly appears as if that horrible
bug has been fixed, or at least much improved. If it does re-occur I will
post again, but right now, I am a very happy puppy.

I got a bit of a surprise when all three of my screens suddenly switched to
three bright green LED clock displays, and at first I thought I might
have got a virus, but moving my mouse put it all back to normal, so
whoever added that bit of extra code into the beta code certainly scored a
surprise with me, and a good laugh !!
