After effects 23 UHD video monitoring stuttering and laggy

Since updating our machines to after effects 23 we find that when using mercury transmit via an aja kona 4 to an external viewing monitor that the external video feed is laggy and stuttering .

HD content is not laggy but does occasionaly stutter .

AE 21 behaves fine in either resolution 

Similar issues using blackmagic dnxiq

Have tried latest version 23.4 already and same results

2x Intel Xeon 5118 2.3 2400MHz 12C

96GB RAM

1x HP Z Turbo Drive M.2 1TB SSD 1x 1TB SATA Solid State Drive

NVIDIA Quadro P4000 8GB

ATTO FastFrame NS12 10Gb

AJA Kona

Changing preview render quality makes no difference neither does caching prior to playing 

Plenty of memory assigned to program and more than enough space on C drive 

Anyone else have any issues with external monitoring ?
