After Effects incredibly slow with bare minimum!

Hello, I have a medium-end spec PC and yet AfterEffects is super slow even with an empty project, moving just one rectangle drags the image! Working on larger projects becomes impossible. PC specs are as follows:
- AMD RX 6600 XT
- Ryzen 5 3600
- 32gb RAM
- 2x 500gb SSD

Working on a Ryzen 5 from 2019, I would expect 1080p Comps to preform okay while expecting to work with the Composition Resolution set to Half or Quarter.  If working at 2160p or larger, I would expect to be very, very patient.
