After Effects Ruins All Audio I add to project

Hi I am currently having a problem where After Effects ruins all audio that is imported in MP4's

When a MP4 is imported is shows the correct wave form in the project manager however whenever I bring it into a composition it ruins the output and the only thing I can hear is pure static and distortion

If i try to import a MP3 File the entire program  crashes or I get this error

Check your audio preferences and configure your audio device suitably. Simply sounds like a hard driver crash/ compatibility issue.

It an M2 Pro Macbook Pro out of the box ive gone thorugh all the audio settings nothing made a diffreence

It would be much more helpful for us to diagnose your issue if you could upload a sample source clip that is rendering incorrectly in AE.

Also helpful would be all the standard details we need — like OS, AE version, whether you're importing the footage from something like Dropbox, what your AE audio preferences settings are, etc., etc.
