Can't add markers to Composition Timeline after update

Did you, Adobe, remove the ability for me to press (Numpad *) when *NO* layer was selected, to add a marker to the timeline's composition? As in, above all the layers... so we can see markers when scrolling down through layers? If you did...  I would like to request you change it back. If not.. please fix this bug.
