Crashes when opening project 2024

Hi wonderful people,

My after effects keep crashing when opening a project. The crash Alert gives a different cause every time, so the part below the purple lines (see image) changes. I have try uninstalling AE, scripts, plugins, and fonts. I also asked my direct community and I notice more people has this issue, but no solution so far.

It occurs to me that this ONLY happens when I open a project by double clicking on the file.aep, instead of opening the program after effect first and then select File -> open project, or dragging into a new composition. However, its an habit, so i would love to have this issue resolve.

Oh i'm not sure of if i got the wrong ones, what I found are UXPLogs. Could not (yet) find anything else that could be crash reports

I do have crash reports, but I see some are empty.

"If so, provide your email ID to the crash reporter and submit it so that we can find the crash report on our end. Once done, DM me the email ID that you provided in the crash reporter." <- i'm not sure what you mean with this part, could you elaborate? where do i submit this?

Thanks for sharing the details. Do you see the crash reporter after it crashes? If so, provide your email ID to the crash reporter and submit it so that we can find the crash report on our end. Once done, DM me the email ID that you provided in the crash reporter.

Hi Nishu_kush,

The crashes occurs on all kind of projects, small/large, local/server/drive, different workspaces, AE 2024/2025, creating a new project does not solve the problem. I have days when everything is fine, and then it can happens multiple times a day. I think the only similarity I can think of of the people I know having this problem would be mac related or based west european region.

more context:

When a double click on an .aep file, After Effects opens up and loads up around 90-98% or so before the message appears. It will make a copy of the project as _1.aep

Is it happening with a specific project file? Can you test by creating a new project, saving it, and reopening it with a double click? What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?
