I'm getting a GPU crash with AE 2025 using my Geforce RTX 2060 as well as a 2080 cards.  This does not reproduce with my RTX 6000 Ada card.  It also does not reproduce with AE 2024.  This GPU crash happens when i'm selecting random notification from windows or selecting slack from my windows task bar.

This was tested on Windows 11, using latest AE 25.

Repro Steps:

  1. Open up AE
  2. Create a new project with any media (I used a 1080 mp4 clip)
  3. Select slack from task bar
  4. GPU freezes up and crashes

Actual Results:
GPU freezes up for a min or so and then crashes

Expected Results:
GPU should be fine and slack should open

Hi,

I can't reproduce this on demand anymore after updating to latest version of AE, but I'm still seeing this issue.  I've encountered it twice just applying the effect then alt tab to a different application:

I get this error:

Hi Kevin,

I don't know if it helps but I enabled logging in AE and these are the log files it generated:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/10FH1hdWUAmx9OgptPXKsx7RdqRYa0fKd/view?usp=drive_link

Hopefully this is useful for the team.  Let me know if they want to try anything to help resolve this.  Its pretty ususable right now.

Hi Kevin,

AE will have these error pop up when the GPU crash.  I've set up windows for the Crash dump location but I'm not seeing any crash dump in there for AE.

I did make a sample dump file of the AE process after it crashed:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rHqeZ0Z_aj8OZN-f_88UR_aeCJBXv3_k/view?usp=sharing
