3d Stroke - dash?

Hi all

I'm trying to use Trapcode 3d stroke to make a dashed line (like you would in a shape path) - is there any way to do this? I've tried adjusting the step but just end up with dots.. I'd like these to be dashes. Quite surprised it doesnt look to have this option.. but maybe I'm missing something

If so, any alternatives or will I just have to use a shape path?
