4k video material not showing in after effects

My 4k material i downloaded on line isnt visibile when imported into after effects

 

it shows just a black screen on the composition.

 

1080p works fine... if the same material works 1080 that means this should be an easy fix but I cant get it to work by purging and the strangest thing..... the eye for visibility is not clickable... like its an audio file? but the video opens in VLC movie player

That's useless. You have not provided any info about the actual file specifications. VLC will play a lot of things that AE can't handle, so this is not any measure of relevancy.

That comment was useless and yet you took the time to type it. What you mean is file type, not specifications.  That was what was unrecognised by after effects so why not just ask for that
