I changed MacOS languages from Danish to English and now Media Encoder is encoding.... that great.

But also disturbing... do you have this Adobe?

Yes, we are tracking this issue. There is more visibility and participation from Adobe engineers from the Adobe Media Encoder team at the thread I linked to above.

I have AE and Media Encoder on two different Macs. One at work and one at home.

They both have MacOS Mojave and the latest version of AE and Media Encoder.

On the one at work, Media Encoder doesn't work... it simply never starts.

At home it works as it should.

The only difference is that MacOS is in Danish on the work iMac... the one where Media Encoder doesn't work.

On my home iMac MacOS it's in English.

I will try to change it tomorrow and see if it makes a difference... But I doubt it :-)

Mojave and CC2019 are still in their infancy. The best advice is to switch back to CC2018 and Sierra if at all possible. Wait for bugs to be ironed out if you are on mission critical projects

1. Mac 10.13 & 10.14

2. English

This seems to be a problem that's popping up frequently for Windows 10 users on CC2019.

There seems to be a serious integration issue between AME and AE and PP if you try sending the sequence/comp directly from either ones render outputs. Dragging and dropping the seq/comp onto the AME window seems to bypass this (sometimes) but it most definitely a technical issue Adobe needs to look into. Have not experienced this on Mac OS but then again I am on Sierra and haven't tested on Mojave on a test Mac. Will do so in the near future and post results.

Hi,

Same issue here, no matter it's a new project or created in the old version, I tried to drop the project inside ME with the team project, the project shows up in the queue after a long time but with error message saying "media offline", can Adobe please help to fix this BUG?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. I installed Mojave as I was told I should so that Adobe CC2019 would work properly on my system. I got a last minute project to deliver today, and because the Media Encoder is now not working, I might be losing a client, which I cannot afford. Can you guys please get this issue fixed? I use AE quite a bit and my clients rely on me to deliver on time. I sent to render on Media Encoder, and nothing shows up. I try dragging and dropping, and the dynamic link seems to be doing something, but it never ends. Nothing actually ends up happening, so it's just doing something, but the file never actually shows up. Is there something else I should install? This was working before I upgraded anything, so I doubt I need to install anything. Please, it's really stressing me out.

Thanks!

Hello. I'm sorry you're in a pinch.

When you say that you tried "dragging and dropping" and that the dynamic link seems to do something, did you mean you tried dropping an AEP file into Media Encoder?

First, I'm curious because I didn't know you can do that until right now. It's pretty cool and thank you for the inspiration to learn that little bit.

Second, if you didn't mean an AEP, what did you mean?

For my part, I was able to render to an uncompressed AVI through After Effects, then drag and drop the AVI on Media Encoder so that I can render via my template codec/settings. Have you tried that?

Also, were you using any wipe transition effects? If not, were there any other effects or settings you think could be interfering with the render?

Hey,

I figured it out. Well, not exactly. I also tweeted Adobe and they told me they were looking into it (see attached). So they advised I go back on 2018, and when I did it worked, so I'm guessing it's not a Mojave issue, but a CC2019 issue (perhaps 2019 + Mojave).

At least I got my project out, which is what mattered to me at that point. As for dragging and dropping, yeah, you can take your AEP file and drop it in the Media Encoder window, but in my case, the dynamic link didn't work, so it didn't help.

Having a similar issue. I can't add an AE comp to the media encoder render cue, I get an error message from Nvidia saying GPU out of memory. Trying to encode 8k Footage...

I'm having the same issue here. Whenever I try to close After Effects or Media Encoder they freeze btw. Also, the render time has significantly increased.

The problem usually happens on an existing AE projects. The projects weren't created on previous versions.

Does this problem occur with a new After Effects project, or only an existing After Effects project?

If it occurs with an existing After Effects project, did you create that project in a previous version of After Effects?

Hello. Thank you for your attention with this.

I officially take back the "integration issue" thing.

I've run many tests, including old and new files, imported PSD's to comps, comps built in AE.

Imported PSD to comp with layer groups (that translate into nested comps) and nested comps within projects built in AE.

These weren't exhaustive tests, just ones based on variations of elements I had in the project yesterday that wasn't working right.

All of these rendered fine, except - Linear Wipe on a nested comp, whether it was an import from a PSD or created in AE, crashes my Media Encoder render.

It doesn't matter where the Linear Wipe is applied on the timeline.

This is as far as time has allowed, for now. Please let me know if you need anything further and such.

UPDATE - 4:53PM

I also have a project with Linear Wipe inside of a nested comp (not applied to the comp itself)... render fails.

I'm having the same issue (Windows 10).

Usually, I use custom render settings, but I also tried different encoding setting with the same effect.

I was able to render an AVI in After Effects, however.

Afterward, dragging the file into Media Encoder and it rendered fine.

I suspect it's an integration issue.

Yes there is the same problem. I also got a lot of bugs. So I went back to the old version (2018).

Hey,

How were you able to download 2018 again? I can't find it anywhere in my system...
