I've been able to copy and paste this effect in every version prior to this to continue using it but not with CC18...

This poses a very large problem for my company's News graphics package, as every template that we have uses this plugin.

Is there a simple way to re- enable this?

I'm talking hundreds of templates for 33 TV Stations... Thank you.

Feel free to call or email,

Yup... that was me providing the solution in previous years...

However, my solution does not resolve the CC18 problem.

Thanks for trying to help.

I wish it were easier to communicate with Adobe directly...

You can get your point to the people you want by filing a feature request / bug report. No feedback, but if there's anything they are inclined to address...

Also, is there any chance this is something that can be fixed by a script? Perhaps there would be a way for it to replace the old plug-in.

Or even editing the project file itself?

Oh man...8 years of "not bothering" down the drain.  What a bummer.

Some sort of script to replace effects would be great.

Then you just have to  create a preset and apply it each time.

Haste makes waste...crummy but true.

I'm not clear what issue you are experiencing.

Are you saying the plugin isn't there and can't be applied?

Won't render in older projects where it was there?
Or are you saying that you can't copy and paste it, but it functions otherwise?

When I copy and paste the Lens Blur plugin from CC17 into CC18's effects folder this is the error that I receive.

Lens Blur to my knowledge, was replaced by Camera Lens Blur but we have in previous versions been able to copy and paste the old plugin into the Effects folder and it would continue to work, allowing us to continue daily operations as usual.

With CC18, this method returns this error...

Can it be resolved?

Thank you,

So just checking, can you open other files with Lens Blur applied? That's not a missing plugin error code.

Hi

I have moved your post from the Lounge (which is for non technical discussions) to the After Effects forum, where you are more likely to get replies relevant to your issue
